My Favorite Things...Baby Edition

My sling...a baby sling. I have used a sling to carry my babies for a long time, with the last 6 babies. I would have used one with Jacob, my first, if I knew they existed. I have big fat babies that grow really fast. I love them and their rolls and I love carrying them around so they can be a part of what we are doing and evidently the view is better because baby loves it too:0)

The sling allows you to carry the baby in several positions. Rose loves to "ride" like this...

This light blue one is a Nojo brand. You can find them at Wal-mart. We bought it recently at a yard sale for $2.

This is a picture of me carrying Rose at a recent Festival. After the first few minutes of looking around and smiling at people she was happy to snug in and sleep for a long time. I just can't say enough about how comfortable it is to "wear" your baby this way. I was also able to protect her from the sun. The black one is a SlingEZee by Parenting Concepts. This one is my favorite. It comes in small, medium, and large. I was also blessed to find this one second hand several years ago.
I plan to join Sarah at Fiddledeedee for more favorite things!

I love slings! I say that like I used them but I didn't. I always wanted to but by the time I FINALLY remembered to get one for my first, he was 3. You just reminded me to get one for my second and he's going to be 1 this month. Sigh. Maybe I should get one now for baby #3! I'm not pregnant yet... but then I'll have it.

I love slings! I have a ring sling and my almost 8 month old still uses it some! Thanks for sharing.

When do you usually stop using the sling? My 1-yr-old is 22lbs. Would he be too heavy already? If not, I'd love to try one with him! He loves to be carried on the hip and mama's back is hurting lol.

Elizabeth, Most slings are made to handle weight up to 35 pounds or so. I know all about back ache with little ones! My kids have wanted to be carried or "see" what I'm doing (cooking, shopping ect.) until 2 or so. A sling is great to have when you are shopping when baby is sleepy or just wants out of the cart. Email me if you want to talk more or want more suggestions for buying:0) monicamdc8@aol.com

I just found you through another blog and thought I'd leave a comment.

I could never get the hang of my sling until they were older but with my last and teeniest baby I loved my bjorn! It was a life saver! The other three all love the backpack but #4 was just too small.
I love to wear babies. It's so much easier than pushing a stroller!

Oh and your kids are lovely!

I used a Moby wrap (sling) for my 2nd daughter and LOVED it when she was little. It fit just perfectly, she slept in it, and it didn't stress my back at all.

Thanks for participating in My Favorite Things!!! I think the 'baby edition' idea is a great one, and can't wait to see more of your reviews!
